Fraud Alert! Recognizing and Reporting Fraudulent Text Messages

At Fidelity Bank, protecting your personal and financial information is a top priority. Recently, we’ve learned that some of our customers have received fraudulent text messages claiming to be from Fidelity Bank. These messages attempt to mislead you into thinking there is potential fraud on your account.

What You Should Know About Fraudulent Text Messages

Below, we’ve provided an example of both a legitimate and fraudulent text message to help you identify any suspicious activity:

  1. Legitimate Message
    • Example: The official text message from Fidelity Bank will include specific details about the transaction in question, such as the merchant name and the dollar amount. You will always be prompted to confirm or deny the transaction by replying with "YES" or "NO". If fraud is detected, you will also be contacted by one of our representatives for further assistance.

  2. Fraudulent Message (Incorrect)
    • Example: Fraudulent texts may look similar but often lack the specific transaction details or may use generic information. These messages may also contain misspellings or poor grammar, lack of capitalization, or suspicious links or phone numbers. Always be cautious and never share your personal information in these texts.

  • Monitor your account. Regularly review your account activity to identify any unauthorized transactions.
